X APDEA Congress and IV Lusophone Meeting on Economics, Sociology, Environment and Rural Development (ESADR 2022)

It is with great satisfaction that the Portuguese Association of Agricultural Economics (APDEA) announces that the 10th APDEA Congress and lV Lusophone Meeting on Economics, Sociology, Environment and Rural Development (ESADR), to be held between 14 and 16 September 2022, in Coimbra, has the High Sponsorship of His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic, Professor Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
Alto Patrocínio is an endorsement by the President of the Republic for the implementation of ideas aiming to promote, encourage and mobilize the country and its citizens for the challenges and opportunities facing Portugal.
This seal is an honor for APDEA, an incentive and an added responsibility in the organization of its congress and in the mobilization of the agricultural economist’s community.
The event will be a space for the dissemination of technical-scientific work, and for discussing the main challenges and opportunities facing the agri-food sector, the forest, and rural territories, in Portugal, Europe and the Lusophone area.

THE EVENT
APDEA (Portuguese Association of Agrarian Economics) with the support of SOBER (Brazilian Society of Rural Economics, Administration and Sociology) will hold in 2022, in Coimbra, at Escola Superior Agrária (ESAC) of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (IPC), the X Congress of APDEA and the IV Lusophone Meeting on Economics, Sociology, Environment and Rural Development between September 14 and 16, 2022 in a hybrid system, in person and online.
The event, with the theme “Territories, Agriculture and Agrifood: Global Challenges and Risks in the 21st Century” aims to reflect on agrifood and forestry systems in territorial cohesion in a phase of climate transition that affects everyone
Developing resilient agri-food and forestry systems capable of crossing the digital transition and promoting the maintenance of the population in depopulated territories and their environmental protection is a challenge and a risk.
APDEA invites you to participate in this event through the submission of abstracts of works in the different disciplinary areas and in different themes, encouraging young researchers to present their work, thus widening the debate that is as important in the present as in the decisions of the future of the agriculture.
The organization is preparing a special issue with the best articles to be published in partnership with SOBER in the Journal of Rural Economics and Sociology (RESR) and SCAP in the Journal of Agricultural Sciences (RCA).
The conference is held in central Portugal, in the city of Coimbra, UNESCO World Heritage City, a place of cultural, historical , political and scientific; City with multiple academic traditions and cradle of many political and social revolutions.
